Is it just me, or has Gmail reached the saturation point?
And I can't remember who first speculated on this, but I'm fond of the idea that Gmail will never be open to the public. At the very least this will give them a chain of accountability when the system is inevitably abused. Keep in mind that no Gmail account exists without a link back to another Gmail account -- and those all lead back to the handful of accounts that Google seeded in the beginning.
