San Francisco isn't that bad. I was able to spend a few hours shooting pictures at a little beach a few minutes away from my apartment. I used a Nikon D70 on these, but only had a 24-85 lens, which wasn't really what I needed at all. And before you comment, the D70 (and that lens) normally isn't nearly that noisy (click twice to view full-size and see) or desaturated -- I did that intentionally for the 60's surf vibe. The picture of the rock shows what the D70 really can do (effortlessly). And the picture of the three kids with the boogie boards is cropped -- I need to go back and find the uncropped version.
