I just saw this over at Russell Beattie’s site. Now, I don’t read regularly read a paper that carries Boondocks, but when I do, I find it to be one of the more spot on and intelligent strips out there.
Here’s today’s strip:

Funny, right?
Well, too bad you won’t see it if you read the Chicago Tribune. You see, they censored it because it “presents inaccurate information as fact.”
Er, what inaccurate information? That Bush smoked pot? That Bush did coke? That pot takes the edge off of coke?
What?
You know, I’m actually really annoyed about the whole thing about the Bush tapes and how he said that he didn’t want people to know he smoked pot before as he would be setting a bad example. Well, sure, you would be. But George — you are setting a horrible example to kids by doing something (you feel) was wrong and lying about it.
Why is this lying thing such a recurring theme with your administration, anyway?
And did you see Putin’s response after George was lecturing him on democracy (which admittedly, Putin does need to remember a thing or two about)? Putin said, I quote, “We didn’t criticize you when you fired those reporters at CBS.”
That’s so to the point it’s hilarious. People just don’t take our democracy seriously any more. America now tolerates and endorses torture around the world. America is the only major democracy that imposes the death penalty. America is backing the censorship of free speech via the FCC, is spying on its own citizens via the Patriot Act, and is building new nuclear weapons for Hell’s sake. I can’t even take us that seriously as a voice of freedom any more, and I’m an American.
Chomsky/Clinton 2008. That’s what I’m talking about.
