Closing Down Breakdown

After some consideration, I've decided to shut down the dedicated Breakdown Industries site. A decent article on Breakdown takes about 2 or 3 hours to research, write, and edit. At first, I found that I was writing one article a day on average. Then, one every two or three days. Then once a week. And I would want to write on other topics (technology and politics, particularly), but held back because I felt guilty not spending the time writing for Breakdown.

So, this is the compromise. Breakdown will live on as a section of a larger unto.net site. When I feel like writing about independent art and music, I'll post it there. This will free me up to write about other things without feeling that I'm shortchanging the Breakdown site.

Many, many thanks to everyone that supported Breakdown Industries while it lasted. The mailing list is still out there, and I still welcome people's submissions if they need a place to publish. And I will donate the meager revenue that the ads raised to a charity. (Actually, I'll put it in an envelope and give it directly to the guy who lives outside my building.)
